Happy Halloween and upcycled ice cream cups
Thursday, October 31, 2013
First off, a very Happy Halloween to you! Do you know I didn't make a single Halloween card? I sent some Happy Fall cards to family, I guess that will have to do. I did, however, make some Halloween treat containers. This year I did something a bit different; I upcycled ice cream cups (see last year's here)! Ice cream cups are a good size, the paper's sturdy, and if what you're putting inside is edible they're food grade quality (just don't do anything to the inside of the cup!). After you've enjoyed your dessert, wash them out, leave them to dry, then do your re-do.
Here's my before cup.
And here's my after. Since I had no Halloween paper or embellishments, just one sheet of sparkly Halloween stickers, I had to improvise. I looked online for paper and found this one from the Vintage Digital Stamps site. I dressed up my containers with the paper, made some flowers, did some die cuts for the stickers and tied on some ribbon and twine. For the lid I used a circle stamp from Inspired by Stamping Fancy Circles with a pumpkin sticker in the middle. Both containers are different, one has some pearls, the other a different ribbon.
Oh...and the most important part, the candy inside!
