Ultimate Christmas Card – an A4 XL Glitter 3D Nostalgic Poinsettia
Wednesday, December 2, 2015
I 've had this x-large, glittery Anita's A4 3D decoupage card kit for a while now. How long? I can't rightly remember. In fact, I had forgotten I had it until I found it again digging around in my paper stash.
I decided to go ahead and work it up as my mother's card this year. Although it is a kit without any real guess work involved, putting it all together was time consuming (see my Art Deco Decoupage card tutorial for tips on constructing a better 3D decoupage card). Punching out all the layers and assembling it took me several hours, as did cleaning up all the glitter on my desk afterwards! I did add three little gems and dressed up the inside with colored paper and a personal message. My mother likes poinsettias so I'm sure she'll appreciate it (and since it cost €6.38 to mail I sure hope so!). The photos really don't do it justice; the 3D effect is quite striking on this one in real life.
If you're thinking the photos look different than my norm, you're right, it's such a big card it's too tall to go in my light box! I had to take these in natural light.
