Football (soccer) fan birthday card for a man or woman

This card was for my husband's recent birthday, and as it's probably obvious he's a BIG foot (soccer) fan. I used the Football Lovers Birthday Card kit from Miss DK Designs at Instant Card Making Downloads as my base. This great design would work well for female soccer fans, too.

 If you're not familiar with Instant Card Making Downloads I highly recommend checking them out. They have all kinds of kits, 3D decoupage sheets, etc. for quick download and easy print out; plus a very good sale section – I grabbed this download  for only £0.50 (about $0.67).

I like taking a kit and embellishing it with my own special touches (like I've done with this corset card kit). The crinkle paper strip, twine and soccer charm at the bottom of this card dress it up, while still keeping it masculine.

*Crafty Tip* I like the look of charms, but I don't always want that holder bit showing. You can easily cut off the holder with a wire/side jewelry cutter and smooth down the edge with a metal file. That's exactly what I did with the soccer charm above and all the fleur de lys on this Valentine's day card.
