Pisces birthday card idea with Digital Delights Pisces stamp and paper
Monday, February 27, 2017
I've used Digital Delights Pisces digital stamp, Pisces sentiment and matching Pisces paper for this birthday card for a male friend. These stamps work well for guys or gals; I used the same set up for this Capricorn card for my sister in-law.
I did keep the colors sober, for a bit more masculine look, but really what is a masculine look anymore? I see quite a few gentleman walking around in colorful clothing.
A few enamel dots are scattered around for texture. You might have noticed I've been using rather a lot of these lately. They're my new 'go to' embellishment. I like the fact that they give a bit of color and texture, but are relatively flat. Since most of my cards are mailed, it's nice if they fit flat in the envelope with no protruding bits that could offend the mail sorting machine gods. There's a direct correlation between mounting postage prices and my card crafting style. Compare today's post with this everything-but-the-kitchen-sink vintage look card from 2013. Quite a change, huh?

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun image you chose to use Shani! I love your treatment of the scales - great shadowing with your blue-greys and a tinge of pink coming thru! You are so skilled with your blending - I struggle to pick out a pencil line in the cap! And do I see a hint of blue shadow under the enamel dots?? Well done toots!
