Hot Diggity Dog! Summer's here! Happy Summer card with Porky's Backyard BBQ stamp set
Saturday, July 1, 2017
Here's the fourth of my Porky BBQ themed Happy Summer/Happy 4th of July cards made from one of the eight images in Digi Web Studio's Porky's Backyard BBQ stamp set (on sale for just $1!). And really, what is more summerish than a hot dog?! Although I don't say it on the outside of the card, a Happy 4th of July is included on the inside. Here is No. 1 Porky Grilling, No. 2 Porky Pickles and No. 3 Porky Watermelon. There have been some comments on the ethicality of Porky participating in barbecue related activities. I just want to assure everyone Porky is vegetarian, no kinfolk were harmed in his cookout cuisine.
Many years ago now – so long I've forgotten the exact number – I bought on sale at a price too low to resist Spellbinders-Grand Die-Creative Book Pages die set, but I've never got around to actually using them, 'til this card, which features two.
I fussy cut the image and added a simple gold button as embellishment. My sentiment is from a sheet I created just for the stamps.

The porky image and your story are both delightful.
ReplyDeleteI LoVe that you chose mustard and ketchup colors for your background papers! The great color combo was the first thing to jump out and grab me! Next things were the fab die cut shapes... glad you pulled those out from the depts of your shtuff! Have never seen anything like those shapes! The gold button is large and perfect for that tab - and helps balance the weight quite effectively. And then, of course, there is the wonderful piglet himself - colored perfectly with your masterful skills. Can you tell? I really, really like this one!
