A friend of ours celebrated his birthday this week. He's quite the handyman. We call that an homme à tout faire in French (literal translation – a man to do all). I decided this Digital Delights Handy Harry stamp was perfect for him.
By the way, do you think this stamp is a mouse? Or a bear? I know the ears are big, but I think he's a bear; my husband thinks he's a mouse. If he were a mouse wouldn't he have a tail? Whatever he is, he's cute.
The paper is from Trim Craft's Man Made paper pad, a great pad for masculine cards (as on this Die-cut bicycle birthday card). It's technically retired, but still around if you look hard enough. Harry is surrounded by a starry no-brand Chinese die-cut. The gray stars are also part of the die-cut set. Embellishments are screw-head brads with the tines cut off.
Keeping in mind the French translation of handy man – homme à tout faire (a man to do all) – the inside sentiment ties it all together:
Pour un homme à tout faire...
Fais tout pour avoir le plus joyeux anniversaire !
That is to say...For a man to do all, Do all to have the happiest birthday!

ReplyDeleteThat paper choice is perfect for a 'man about the house[es]' - love the playful vibrant colors! You found a perfect image for your friend and I love the colors you picked out of the backgrounds to use on him. Really fun die for the frame - it tricked my eye at first and I thought there were three layers beneath the image. And, of course, you gotta love the screw head brads for a man! The best for last... your blending and shading is magnificent on this one Shani!

ReplyDeleteWhaouuu Shani!!
Sorry, Shani, but I gotta go with your hubby on this. I think he's a mouse. I'm thinking he just doesn't have a tail hole cut in those overalls, so that's why you can't see it. (: It's still a fantastic card, no matter the debate on species. I love that frame and those brads are perfect! Loving the paper choice too.
ReplyDeleteI thought he is a mouse. I know he is cute! Love the paper and manly brads.
