As most of you probably know by now, I have a new great-niece; so far I've made her 1st Valentine's Day and 1st Easter cards and now this 1st Month Mini-Album (which was part of my niece's birthday present this year).
I found the album in a charity shop for only CHF 0.50 (see before photo below). It was in good shape and I liked the color. I like making mini-albums with this type of album base. I prefer a bigger, protected photo with embellishments primarily on the cover/outside edges (e.g. this album from a London visit a few years back). Search the blog by album and you'll see this is my favorite format.
I cut and glued the ribbon ties to both the front and back inside covers, then covered the ribbon with paper cut and sized to fit. I repeated the process for the outside front and back covers. I decorated the front with elements from the kit, adding pearls to dress it up. I hung a heart charm on some twine and tied it to the side. I created tabs with a die and used the computer to print out tab labels. I created a title page and end page on the computer as well. Paper and elements are from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Girl paper collection kit.
As always with these type of projects, I ordered matt photo prints instead of printing them out myself (ink jet printed photos aren't the longest lasting).
My niece was thrilled with it!

What a lovely gift for your niece! I love those tabbed pages and the fact that you keep the 'decorations' to the outside, letting the photos steal the show. An album to cherish, that's for sure.
