This double fold 5" square card (13 cm² ) was made with original vintage images and paper—not copies—taken from an old French ladies' magazine.
The original article titled La Poupée— Leur Jouet Bienaimé (The Doll—Their Most Loved Toy) was how to make a doll, her dress, and accessories. I wanted the center doll images to stand out, but paper this old is fragile. To reinforce the images so that I could mount them on the card with adhesive pads, I first adhered them to thicker cardstock, then cut them out.
I wanted the tag to be old paper as well. I took an old blank page from a book (I have a special file of old blank pages) and ran it through my printer with the sentiment "Hey Doll!", then mounted it on cardstock and cut the die. I lightly inked all the edges with Distress Old Paper.
This would be a perfect card for doll collectors. Do I know anyone that collects dolls? Hmmm...let me see. Can't think of anyone right off the top of my head. I guess this little Poupée is going in my Etsy shop for someone else who does.
