"Something Fishy" for the birthday boy and Happy 4th!

Once again, the fourth of July has snuck up on me, without me making a single card! Since I'm abroad there's nothing to remind me, you see, and I don't think about it until the day itself. Here's wishing everyone in the States a Happy 4th!

A friend recently asked for a birthday card for a 6 year old boy who lives in the States. Hmmm...I was stumped. What do I have for a boy? Lots for a little girl, but a boy? I was looking through my paper stash, trying to see what I could come up with, when I came across this sheet of Graphic 45 Oceania paper (I hoard my Graphic 45 paper, it's hard to find here and expensive when you do). Kids love fish and aquariums, right? So I decided to make a fish card.

I fussy cut and layered the fish to give it a 3D effect. To personalize it, I put his name in Stamperia foam letters.

Then, after I finished this, I found some baseball die cuts I completely forgot I had. Phffff...

Material

Paper—Graphic 45 Oceania, G. Lalo and Folia cardstock
Embellishments—foam letters, pearls

  1. Well, there's always next year for this same boy to use the baseball stickers!

I think this card is very intriguing, with the 3D fish. That paper is really cool.
