A fast drying, non-brittle, no thread, clear glue for paper, flowers, ribbons, buttons, etc.

I've been in the market for a new glue. My old glues take forever to dry, have those pesky threads, or turn brittle and break. I like Yes! glue for paper and collage, but that's more of a paste. It doesn't tack fast enough for making paper flowers, or adhering buttons, bows, and the like. I asked some of my crafting buddies what they use and since glues are so much cheaper in the States, I decided to buy a new one during my visit back last November. The consensus had been Aleene's Tacky Glue was a solid, inexpensive choice, and that's what I intended to buy. However, when I got to the store I saw Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue, which it says dries even faster. I picked up a couple of bottles to try. I've been using it a few months now and I'm very pleased. It is tacky almost right away with the materials I use—paper, buttons, twine, ribbon—and it dries clear, no strings, and not brittle. Not having tried the original Aleene's I can't compare the two, but I'm very pleased with this one. The only downside is now that I've tried it I can't find it here locally. I'm going to have to order it from the UK and the price, well, let's just say it's quite a bit more than the States.

  1. Merci pour l'info Shani, dommage qu'elle n'est pas en vente en France... J'en ai plusieurs que j'utilise selon la matière.

  3. Good to know. I use Aleene's Tacky Glue for a LOT of my cardmaking. Never heard of this version before. I'll have to give it a try.
