Bird wreath Christmas card in 3D decoupage
Saturday, November 28, 2015
I picked up this Papermania Bellissima Christmas card kit on sale a while back. I thought the design was so pretty. When I went to make it up, however, I discovered a problem. I didn't like the open aperture in the center of the card, allowing whatever I wrote inside to show through – not pretty.
So I decided to do my own thing with it (I like taking a card kit and giving it my own special touch, like this vintage look birthday dress form card). I cut the card in the fold and trimmed back the front. I constructed the 3D card front – 46 pieces and a few hours later! – and centered it on vintage sheet music. I then glued this to plain cardstock. Some simple red twine tied at the side dresses it up.
I used the back of the card and an extra sheet given with the kit, inside the card, meaning no part of the original kit card went to waste.
