A one layer card for 613 Avenue Create #162 – This Bud's for You
Sunday, February 7, 2016
I'm so pleased to be guest designing this month with the lovely (and oh so talented!) ladies at the 613 Avenue Create challenge blog. This week's challenge #162 is Anything Goes with the optional twist of one layer; I've used the twist.
Heidi, at 2CuteInk, recently did a post where she colored her stamps on kraft paper with white; I was so impressed, what a great way to create a simple – yet impressive – look quickly and easily, no shading required. I decided to color Digital Delights Monkey Love stamp (on sale right now for just $1.00!) using her method and was very pleased with the result. A little metallic twine tied to the side keeps embellishments minimal. My sentiment I created with free Edwardian Script ITC font.
Another big plus for this type card design – it's light, for affordable mailing. My cards just keep getting lighter and lighter. If you compare this vintage look birthday card from 2013, to last year's 2015 Tropical Santa Christmas card, you can see the progression.
Supply List
Paper – Kraft cardstock
Digital stamp – Digital Delights Monkey Love
Color – Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils
Embellishments – twine
Font – Edwardian Script ITC

Your coloring on Kraft certainly is impressive. The white really makes the image stand out.

ReplyDeleteGreat to have you as GDT this month and showcasing this gorgeous and oh so cute image. A great CAS design, as CAS as they come and a fantastic job with the colouring on the Kraft card too. I've never tried that so I just might have to give that a try now.
