Joyeuses Pâques – French Happy Easter card – and how to save ink, paper, and money with digital paper printing
Sunday, March 27, 2016
Joyeuses Pâques – Happy Easter – to everyone observing the holiday today! 2 Cute Ink's Easter Friends digistamp stars front and center on this card for a French speaking friend.
I added the sentiment using free Crazy Girlz Blond BTN font. Around the stamp is Joy! Crafts willow frame diecut with the raised embossed areas inked in black to emphasize the design.
The paper is Tactile Studio's Chasing Dreams digital paperpack.
*Crafty Tip* Save money on printer ink and cut down on paper waste by pre-sizing and joining your digital paper choices before printing. I very rarely print my digital papers on a full size sheet of paper. My paper sizes run anywhere from 10 x 15cm to A5 (the largest size I habitually use). Not only are you using less ink and paper (thus saving money!) you can also size down the overall design of the paper so that you see more of the paper pattern on the card. Just create a file in your image processing software that corresponds to the paper size you want to print, join your papers, cut your paper to that size and print. On this card, the two papers on the background were joined on the computer. This Panda Valentine's Day card is another example of joining the digital papers before printing.

Ohhhh - what a cutie! Makes a great Easter card Shani! Your blending is flawless, as always - I have no clue how you do that with pencils!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip on the blending of papers... I never print paper - exactly for the reasons you stated! Now, with your idea of merging and sizing papers beforehand, I think I might try it without fear of it costing me $35 for new ink cartridges. I really like your habit of adding little tips or tutorials - I always learn something!
