Special Easter Whimsie Doodles digital stamp Easter card idea and the best glue for paper piecing
Sunday, March 13, 2016
Whimsie Doodles Special Easter digital stamp is the focal image for this Easter card (you can see another cute Whimsie Doodles free Easter stamp on this card).
Instead of coloring the image, I decided to paper piece it, using digital papers from Snap Click Supply Company Corina Gardner's Jellybean Hop digital paper pack.
*Crafty Tip* I hardily recommend Yes! Stikflat glue for paper piecing. It doesn't dry immediately so you've got a few seconds to slide your paper around to fit. It dries clear, it does NOT buckle and comes in a big economical tub – what's not to like?! I apply it with a brush. If you haven't ever tried it, do! You'll be convinced.
This was the first outing for the banner die from Sizzix's Thinlits Arrows, Banners, Chevrons & Clouds die set I treated myself to at Christmas. I have some individial banner dies I can create a banner with, but I liked that this one was all one piece (I just paper pieced the individual banner pieces). As the name implies, in addition to the banner die there are several others in the set – arrows, chevrons and clouds – making it a good, versatile buy.
I used the sketch from the new Paper Play Sketches challenge #003, as the basis for my card design.

Never occurred to me to paper piece an Easter Egg! Great idea Shani! And I love your recommendation for the Yes glue for paper piecing! I have a jar of it that I used for book making because the papers I used on my book covers needed to lie flat and not buckle - you are right, they don't! I will have to dig that out and see if it is still useful. So you gave me TWO good ideas today!
