15/07/16 Update – It is with a heavy heart that I add this post addendum. I published this post before the tragic events yesterday evening in Nice. It was only this morning upon waking, that we learned what had happened. Unfortunately, this Bastille Day 2016, has turned out to be anything but a happy one.
Bonne Fête Nationale ! Happy Bastille Day!
Bonne Fête Nationale ! Happy Bastille Day! Wouldn't you know the only card I made for our French national holiday is in English and was mailed to the States?! Phfffff . . . shame on me. Quelle honte !
This card went to my Francophile cousin in Seattle. From what he tells me, there are quite a few French living in Seattle and some very big Bastille day celebrations in the area, so I suppose it's not wholly inappropriate for him to receive this card. One year I found the perfect vintage image – Uncle Sam and Marianne arm in arm – but this year I decided on a Bastille Day card instead of the 4th, just to keep him guessing.
The image is a free fireworks digital stamp from Opal Manor and the paper is the Liberty digital paper pack from Tactile Studio. I don't know why, but this paper seems so French to me. You can see where I've used it before on this French themed very Gallic birthday greeting card.

Greetings from Germany
So many little details that are catching my eye! I love that you used the seed beads instead of something bigger - they fit with the size of the image nicely. The banner is super with the three different papers and the buttons are a perfect fit! You have such an eye for detail my friend and your execution is ALways so spot on!

Fabulous card (and it could double as a 4th of July card too)!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so very sad. Hugs to you, my friend.

Superbe! Les papiers sont magnifiques et l'image jolie aussi! Tiens, ça me fait penser que je n'ai jamais fais une pour cette date.. Peut être pour l'année prochaine?
