Shirt digistamp masculine birthday card with French sentiment

I'm doing my first Hostess Monday gig on the Digital Delights blog, using this Digital Delights Shirt digital stamp to whip up a quick birthday card for my father-in-law. How fortunate to have the new Touch of France sentiment set for the Joyeux Anniversaire digi on the front (Happy Birthday in French), as my father-in-law does not speak English.

The stamp was sized large and printed out on three different A5 papers. I fussy cut it to fit a 14.5 cm square card base. The collar, pockets and tie were adhered with 1mm double-sided mousse tap for a 3d effect. This is the second male clothing card I've made for my father-in-law; I used a docrafts Suitable decopage kit for his 2015 card. He liked that one, so I'm sure he'll like this one, too.

'What do you think?' I asked my husband, handing him the card. 'It's for your father's birthday.'

He gave it a quick once over. 'Nice,'

'Nice? That's it?' Hardly an effusive response there.

'Nice card,' he said, giving it back. 'Horrid tie.'

'Yes, but it looks like one your father would wear.'

'That's true,' he said, brightening. 'He'll love it!'

Sometimes I have to explain these things to him.
