Christmas Card Advent Calendar #19 – Snowflake die card
Tuesday, December 19, 2017
Today's #19 card uses a large die I bought some time back on Amazon – or was it eBay? – one or the other. I'd be happy to share the name of the company if I really knew it, but I don't. These are very inexpensive dies from China (where else?) and sold under various names. I think I paid around €3.00 for this one.
I bought a few, not expecting much, but they cut surprisingly well, as you can see on this intricate snowflake design. I ran it through my Happy Cut machine a few times to get a defined cut, but I used a heavier cardstock, on a lighter paper I think once or twice would have worked. I dressed up the snowflakes with pearls.
I added the sentiment directly to the bottom of my card base by running it through my printer first thing; the font is one of my favorites – Channel Slanted 2. The paper behind the diecut is from the Frozen digital paper pack by Tactile Studio. Wondering how I got that pretty swirl at the end of my sentiment? Check out my crafty tip on ASCII codes (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) for more info.

ReplyDeleteAt first glance, and before reading your post, I thought they were individual snowflakes. I like the full die-cut. Lovely card.
ReplyDeleteWhaouuu.. ta carte n'a pas besoin d'autres éléments décoratifs, ce die l'habille complètement ! Le rendu est très élégant avec le fond bleu et quelques perles au centre.. j'adore !!
