I'm late in getting off her card. Mail wasn't running with any regularity between here and the States during our confinement (kind of hard to get mail back to the States when planes aren't flying), so I didn't much see the point in trying to mail anything earlier. In fact, mail's still not doing so well.
Case in point, I received business related correspondence from the States two days ago that was sent first of May! It's a real pain because I was supposed to have responded to this within ninety days and since I didn't, what was sent is void. Now I have to start the whole process again! And it's not like anyone actually answers a phone in the USA anymore, so I've sent an email, left a message and am crossing my fingers someone gets back with me. The address was correct, it was clearly postmarked the first of May with enough postage, so I have no idea what the problem was. This isn't the only example, I received a St. Patrick's day card from a USA friend in June!!!
My niece subscribes to my blog, too, so I've had to wait to know she's received the card before I post this, lest I spoil the surprise.
Like her Hello Kitty-ish bachelor's degree graduation card, I opted for fussy cut clip art instead of a digistamp. Elements used are Prettygrafik's Graduation Owls clip art and digital paper ($0.99 each for a clipart pack of 6 images and a paper pack of 12). I've dug out some long unused no-brand dies and put them to work – the tags, the banner, the circles, and the notebook paper edge. Embellishments are mousse star stickers, enamel dots and twine. The sentiment was created with Channel Slanted font (one of my favorites).

Digital image – Prettygrafik's Graduation Owls clip art
Die – No-brand tags, banner, notebook edge, and circle dies.
Embellishments – mousse star stickers, enamel dots, twine.

So bright and fun! Wonderful colours and I love that sweet owl. That mail situation sounds like a real pain! But, like you said, if planes aren't making the trips.... Hopefully someone gets back to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely project, love the colours and the owl is so cute.

This is adorable, I love your little graduate owl. I hope your niece managed to mark the occasion safely, it must be such a disappointment after all that work to not get to graduate the traditional way. Thank you so much for joining in the Aud Sentiments Challenge, I hope we will see you again next time.
