I almost didn't post this fall card today because...it's not perfect. I've used my new alcohol markers to color the digi (for a 2nd time, my first attempt was this Penquin birthday card) and am not as pleased with the outcome as I would have been with my usual colored pencils (I'm still on the learning curve). Then, when I folded the bow die-cut, the paper creased on me...phfff. But, I gave myself a good talkin' to and said, 'What the heck! Paper crafting isn't about perfection, it's about fun! About being creative and taking the chance to learn new things.' And so, I clicked publish and posted it anyway. Update – please see 15/09/20 post, these markers are counterfeit.
I used my big Artemio scalloped square dies that I haven't used in a long, long time to cut the base and layers. Paper is digital Fall Treats by Prettygrafik. The Pumpkins digi stamp is a freebie from Beccy's Place.
Embellishments are Toga's bow die dressed up with a felt flower and button. Any European scrappers will be will be sad to know the Toga brand we knew and loved appears to be no more. Another scrap company bites the dust. I was looking for a link to this bow die and apparently Toga is now part of Draeger Paris – whatever that is, never heard of them. I was redirected to their website, but didn't see any dies at all, in fact, I didn't see much of anything scrap related. What a shame. They had some great products. The sentiment was created with Earl Gray Tea font.
And do remember, Scribbles has donated a free penguin digi exclusively to Paperesse readers, as well as the chance to win an artistic themed digi at the end of this month. Click on over to September's Digital Divas to find out more and register to win!

Your card is gorgeous and I think you did a fantastic job with the colouring! I love the autumn palette you chose for your markers and papers, everything coordinates beautifully. I love the paper bow you added and I don't think the little bit of creasing makes any difference... in fact, I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy

Shani! Your highlights are beautifully done!! And the darker orange on the left looks like a shadow from that leaf never noticed the different shade. You are doing amazing blending with those alcohol inks right off the bat! ~ginny

ReplyDeleteAck, I hate it when paper creases like that! I probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. (As a rampant pointer-outer I know why you did though. (:) Lovely card! That font is cool!
