Welcome to November's Digi Stamp Diva – Helen! Helen, from Berkhamsted, England, United Kingdom, is the creative force behind Hetty Clare Art!
I recently discovered Helen's work and I have to say...I am impressed. I love the elegance of her drawings, the hint of whimsey and humor. I promptly sent her a message, asking if she'd consent to be November's Diva. She agreed and shared a little bit more about herself and her creative process.
I wasn't surprised to learn that Helen studied graphic design and illustration in art college and worked in the graphics industry afterwards (her professionalism shows in her work). She then fell into teaching, which she still does. Although she enjoys working in many different mediums, Helen creates her digi stamps with ink, pencil and digitally. Color is added with inks as she finds them more vibrant and easy to adjust in the digital conversion process to jpeg form. She loves developing new ideas and says her Etsy shop reflects the different ways she likes to draw.
Helen has graciously offered her shop's Pony Christmas digital stamp (shown below) free this month, exclusively to Paperesse readers. The stamp will be available for the month of November only; to receive your digi stamp, please leave a comment below, send an email to paperesse@live.com and I will email you the stamp. This is THE perfect stamp for all coloring skill levels, especially beginners. For those of you who have problems shading, Helen's clever design takes care of that for you – the shaded areas on the pony and hat, the detail in the mane – are already done. Just use lighter alcohol markers and there you go!
Helen is having a sale through November in her shop – 40% off all digi stamps! Now's the time to stock up (I admit I've done just that). You'll definitely be seeing more Hetty Clare stamps here in the near future.

I'm doing something a bit different this month. I so loved Helen's Pony Christmas stamp that I couldn't wait to color it up and make a card. Rather than do a separate post with the stamp, I thought I would include it here, to let you see it in action!
I decided to use a monochrome theme on this card, coordinating the stamp with paper from Craft Sensations Warm Style and Monochrome Style Christmas paper pads. I added my own, 'Giddy-up! Christmas is coming' sentiment. Such a pretty stamp doesn't need much in the way of embellishment; a simple wooden snowflake and rust colored pearl top it all off.
Paper – cardstock, Craft Sensations Warm Style and Monochrome Style Christmas paper pads
Digital stamp – Hetty Clare Art Pony Christmas
Dies – Die-namics square and circle stax
Embellishments – wooden snowflake, pearl
