Happy New Year, everyone, or maybe it's more appropriate to wish Happy Better Year! I don't think there are too many amongst us sorry to see 2020 go.
Welcome to 2021's first Digi Stamp Diva, January's Pattie Gomez from Toms River, NJ, United States. Pattie is the prolific and talented artist behind Pattie's Creations.

I first became aware of Pattie's wonderful digis by participating in her Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog, which links to her Etsy Shop. I was not only impressed by her illustrations, but her creative output as well. She has 436 items in her shop right now to choose from – whatever type of digi-stamp you need, you're sure to find it. Pattie is having a sale through January 31st, use the coupon code BOOP789 to get 30% off.
I asked Pattie to tell me a little bit about herself and was surprised to learn that in addition to being an artist, Pattie is an Internet Technology Professional. She said she always dreamed of being an artist, but needing another job to support her family, pursued a degree in Information Technology, where she worked in the telecommunications field for many years before taking early retirement.
Pattie says that one day she decided to draw her own images to use on the cards she was making. She had such positive feedback from other crafters, she realized she could sell them. She began by creating two characters close to her heart –
Pattieboop and cat
Allie – based on Pattie's own name, her love of the character Betty Boop and her own cat named Allie. She was having such fun coming up with images she set up an Etsy store and vastly expanded her image line.
Pattie uses Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to enhance her drawings and is experimenting with a recently purchased Wacom Tablet to add color.
Pattie is kindly offering her vingtage look

I told Pattie when she showed me the image she'd like to share with Paperesse readers, that I saw a masculine birthday card in this pocket watch digi's future and that's exactly what I did. This is a perfect example of why I prefer digital stamps to traditional ones. Digital stamps can be easily sized up/down and layered. I simply took the original image and with my photo processing app, removed all the white background surrounding the watch and the little bit in the curve of the winder crown at the top, then saved it as a PNG file, which I used to layer seven different versions of the stamp, perfectly sized for a slimline card.
Watch paper is a magazine freebie. The outer 'It's about time...' sentiment was created with Candara Light font; I plan for the inner sentiment to say...'to wish you a Happy Birthday!' I kept embellishments simple with a little dotted ribbon and a sprinkling of the cut-out remains of the card die border.

Digital stamp – Pattie's Creations Pocket Watch
Dies – no-brand slimline card dies, Creative Expressions Stitched Snowflake Stiplet
