Masculine Get-Well Card Featuring Beccy's Place The Cat's Meow Digital Stamp

I've used a digi from Beccy's Place The Cat's Meow digital stamp set for this get-well card for a friend of my husband's who's recently had hip surgery. Given that he's understandably walking with difficulty at the moment, I thought this image eminently suitable. The French sentiment 'Remit-toi vites sur pattes !' literally means 'Get back on your paws quick!' A funny way of saying you hope someone is back on their feet soon. And just a quick French lesson here...in case you're thinking I've goofed on the card and left a space at the end of my sentiment between the last word and the exclamation point, no, I haven't. In French, a space is left between the last word and the exclamation point that follows it (same goes for question marks and some other forms of punctuation).

Every one of the four cat digis and seven sentiments included in the set are fantastic, making this digi kit extremely versatile and suitable for so many different occasions.

Paper is American Crafts DIY Shop Kraft paper pad. I dressed it up with some jupe ribbon and wooden stars (that I painted black) adorned with brass metal studs. I have quite a few of these studs I've picked up in outlet bins. They're supposed to be for clothing, but they're perfect for cards. I glue them down with a little Aleene's Tacky Glue and they stay put just fine. I especially like them on masculine cards, e.g. this Gentleman Ted birthday card.

  4. You've done a brilliant job coordinating all the colours in your project Shari, I love the black, kraft and yellow tones. The sentiment is wonderful, I really like the humour in it and the way it literally connects with the image, fabulous idea. The embellished stars are awesome too, great idea to add the studs with some glue. Love it!
    Cheers,

  11. Wonderful card, Shani! That paper is perfect for masculine cards. Thanks for the lesson on French punctuation....I had no idea (and when I saw it on other cards I just thought it was for effect/aesthetics).
