Several years ago I found small 10cm square Docrafts card base and envelope packs reduced to something like €0.25. Too small to mail, I picked up a few thinking I could use them as gift cards. I stuck them in my envelope storage box and promptly forgot about them (can you relate?). A couple of years after that, I found lovely 10cm square Paper Addicts paper pads also greatly reduced and picked up this Festive Folly pad and a couple of others. The pads were small, but I was sure I could find a way to use them (by that time I'd forgotten about the card packs). The pads got stuck in my paper drawer. I've taken them out a time or two, but each time they're too small for me to use.
Fast forward to this year...I was going through my envelope box recently and rediscovered the small card base/envelope packs, which in turn reminded me of the small paper pads; I put them together and voila!...a perfect fit.
I decided a big focal point stamp was the way to go for such a small card. I chose this Snowman from Prettygrafik's Christmas Friends pack (only $0.99 for about nine digis). Prettygrafik's clean outline stamps are especially good for fussy cutting (e.g. this Polar Bear aperture card). I flipped the digi to have Mr. Snowman pointing into the card (easily enough done if you don't like the direction of your digi). A box of these Xmas wooden embellishments is another recent outlet find. I decided to use one here in lieu of a sentiment. A little twine and some green pearls dress it up.
The card base did fulfill its intended purpose; I gave this card to a neighbor accompanied by a box of chocolates.
