'Bacon' in the Sun Summer Card & a Double Stick Foam Tape Alternative

We've had such a dry, HOT summer here in France this little guy would definitely be 'bacon' in the sun if he stayed out too long! The cute punny digi and sentiment are from the now defunct Bugaboo stamps (sigh). The Summertime digital paper is from the former Tactile Studio. Goodness, do I use anything new? Hmmm, not much. Even the design is copied from an older card (this Bubble Blowing birthday card).

To make the digi and sentiment stand out on the card, I used an upcycled cardboard box in lieu of double stick foam tape (thanks to Beccy's Place for this tip!). I cut the box with the largest die framing my digi and sentiment, and used that as backing for the paper. This actually works better than foam tape. They cover completely (no gaps between tapes) and they don't stick up as high (I prefer a 1mm tape and all I can find anymore are 2mm). I plan to use up the tapes that I have, but I won't be buying more.

Bright buttons give a bit of embellishment.

Supply List

  1. This is such a fun image and you did a great job coloring. Your layout and different patterned paper is also great.

  3. That pig looks like he's living his best life! Loving the design (even better the second time 'round (: ) and the colours too. I echoed your sign about Bugaboo Stamps. So sorry to see them go! Thanks for the tip about the cardboard, excellent idea!
