Happy Thanksgiving Bon Appétit Turkey

I designed this Thanksgiving card with these wooden Bon Appétit embellishments in mind. I've had them forever and a day and never used them. I decided it was about time I did and thought one would go perfectly with this QKR Stampede ready to chow down turkey digi (concerned readers please note – this is a vegan turkey). 

I noticed the little upside down v over the E there, but didn't think a thing about it. I assumed it was a decorative touch, like the heart in the middle. But, then again, I'm not a mother tongue French speaker. My husband came into my room as I was working on this, saw the embellishment on my desk, and promptly set me to rights.

'Uh, that's wrong,' he said.

'What's wrong?'

'That.' He pointed at the embellishment. 'Bon appétit isn't spelled right. What's that little thing on the E?' He picked it up and examined it more closely. 'Can you just cut it off?'

'No. It's wood. And it's decorative.'

'Uh, buh...decorative or not, it's spelled wrong.' He laid it back down. 'It is l’accent aigu in bon appétit and as it is there it looks like le circonflexe.' 

I looked at it more closely. Dang it. It did indeed look like l'accent circonflexe, the little upside down v you see above the e in the word forêt (confusing I know, but all these pesky little accents have names) and not l’accent aigu it should be. 'You're absolutely right'. 

'Of course, I'm right, it's my language.'

'Yes, but I've designed my whole card around it.'

 A very Gaelic shrug ensued. 'Still wrong.'

'It's going to an American.'

'Ah, well, in that case, go right ahead.'

I'm assuming our American friends won't notice the error and will enjoy the card. 

Paper is Prettygrafik Fall Harvest digital. Enamel dots give a bit bling. And the rest of those Bon Appétit embellishments? They're now residing in the bottom of my recycle bin.
