Chrissy's up this week at Little Red Wagon and she's challenging us to 'Use Your Die Cuts'. This is a pretty easy one for me, as practically every card I make uses at least one die, but as this Valentine from last week has more than the average with five, it's perfect for this challenge. It has no-brand stitched squares, a no-brand border strip and hearts, and Gemini Fancy Borders ric-rac.
The Sweet On You digi (retired) is from Di's Digi Stamps. Di's has been my go-to source for Valentines this year; I made two and her stamps were on both (the other one is here). Paper is digital paper leftovers from my scraps file. Well, except for the music paper which wasn't a 'leftover' so much as a 'never used'. When I printed this out long, long ago, I realized that the bass and treble clefs (the symbols at the very beginning of a musical piece) were reversed or upside down. As a pianist, that really bugged me and I couldn't bring myself to use it, but this time it went so well with the other scrap papers, I decided that with this smaller card I could cut off the clefs with the die-cut and just ignore the badly written notes (quite a few goofs there, too).
CK Round Scratch font was used to create the sentiment. Heart shaped pearls dress up the hearts.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have noticed a thing with the music paper. It's worked out wonderfully well and is a fabulous fit behind the main feature!

Aw, such a sweet Valentine! Great use of die cuts, especially the smaller white background die...the stitching just adds a little added interest.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Those mice are so sweet. Loving all the different die cuts too. Good save with the music paper...something like that would bug me too. (:
ReplyDeleteLove this so much! Those mice are just too cute and 5 die cuts, I have to label you an overachiever for this challenge.
