Girlfriend Kate's up this week at Little Red Wagon and she's singing saying her Queen theme for this week is, 'We Are the Champions!' which means she'd like to see your congratulations projects. Keep in mind these don't have to be cards, any papercraft is accepted.
My make today is perfect for a congratulations card, don't you think? The digi is No. 1 Bears from Di's Digi Stamps (retired).
I didn't use a sentiment on the front of the card. There are so many different ways I could use this I've saved that for inside. Heck, it could even be used for a birthday card. Paper is Craft Sensations Home Sweet Home design pad. Embellisments are die-cuts – my trusty ric-rac die layered against a no-brand border strip die – topped off with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow.
Since I want to link this card up to Di's Digi Designs Challenge, whose theme this week is mixed media, Id like to point out that in addition to the Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers I used to color the digi, I've used two other products. I used a Art-n-Fly white gel pen to add highlights – just a little touch of white can make a BIG difference (if you click the link there, there's an excellent video about adding highlights with these pens) – and a Uni Pin Fine Line pigment ink drawing pen with a tiny 0.05 point to darken my bears' eyebrows, eyes, and noses. This is a great pen to bring back features whose definitions can get lost in darker coloring, to fill in broken lines, or even to add detail (think grass, whiskers, leaf viens, etc). I actually use this pen a lot, I just haven't thought to mention it before.
Come click on over to Little Red Wagon and see what the other girlfriends have created this week and link up your own champion projects. We look forward to seeing them!
