I've decided on Christmas flora and whipped up a card with this cute Di's Digi Stamps Poinsettia Mouse digi. Last time I used this digi I colored it with pencils for this Christmas card; it's interesting to compare the two versions – pencil versus marker. I have to admit, I like the look of markers and enjoy coloring with them, but DANG! They're expensive! And unlike pencils, where you buy them once, then just sharpen them and have done with it, markers require maintenance. You've got to clean the caps, refill them when they start to run out, replace the nibs when they start to fray, and you can't just use any ole' paper either. So, you buy once, but then you have to keep on buying. If I'd have thought all that through when I changed from pencil to markers, I might not have done so. But, back to the card...
...I printed the sentiment (Channel Slanted 2) directly on the white paper, which I then folded to make the card. The digital paper is Carta Bella Christmas Delivery Paper Pack 2, available at Snap Click Supply Co. I have this paper in its original physical paper pad form (purchased long ago) and it is one of the rare pads I have used almost completely up. I was so pleased to find it again digitalized. Embellishments are matt enamel dots.

This sweet little mouse digi is so cute. I like the marker colored one best also. For my birthday one year my daughter sent me to Copic classes and I became a certified Copic Marker Designer! So yep, I love markers. I got most of mine as gifts from my 2 daughters since I kept giving them current lists of the ones I needed...LOL
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful cards, Shani and this little mouse is sooo cute! Iʻm at a crossroads with my markers. I have a really nice collection, but have had more and more of them needing big up keep or going dry. I have also had a terrible time getting refills here (no one will ship to Hawaii because of some exclusivity deal) and my local dealer (that doesnʻt sound good, does it?) has had trouble getting them from Japan until fairly recently. Thus, I am trying to learn to use pencils. Your pencil work is beautiful!

Super sweet card, Shani and you did a great job coloring. I use Copics for coloring and like Doni, i took a coloring class years ago and became a Copic Marker Designer. I love to use them. Yes, they are expensive but i use them for years. I tried with Polochrymos but i can´t handle these *lol*

ReplyDeleteSo very sweet! I took a peek at the previous card with same image and couldn't choose a favourite even if I had too. Your colouring is amazing on both. I've never had much luck with pencils so typically use markers - but got an amazing deal from a friend selling some of her Copic doubles. I've got some Spectrum Noir markers as well.
