I've gone with a puffin Christmas card. You might think these are penguins, but no, they're puffins. Because penguins can't fly and puffins can. Don't believe me? Still think these guys look like penguins? Okay, confession time...I had it in my mind that this challenge was 'Things with Wings', not 'Things that Fly', so I went with Bugaboo's card sized Winter Penguins Puffins Collage digi, since penguins don't fly, but do have wings. Then I went to write this post, double-checked the challenge number, and realized my error. As I don't have enough time to do another card...lets just pretend they're puffins.
Although penguins don't fly above water, they sure can fly in it. Per Smithsonian Magazine's 14 Fun Facts About Penguins, the fastest penguins can swim at up to 22 mph (35 kmh)!
The sentiment was created with Cafe & Brewery font. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Caribbean Ocean dress up the snowflakes.

I think your card is adorable! Had you not mentioned it I wouldn't have realized penguins couldn't fly...duh me!

ReplyDeleteThat’s too funny as I’d originally thought the challenge was things with wings - which is why I added the little wing cut to my bird! I love how desperately you’ve tried to convince us that your sweet penguins are puffins (and why can’t they be) and/or that penguins do fly while swimming in water!
