I've got a fall card for you today and I thought while I was at it, I'd use this card to tell you how I print digis to be sure they'll fit in a certain die (we'll call it a Crafty Tip – I haven't done one of those in a while). This simplifies the digi printing process and allows you to easily find the right size to fit in your die the first time you print it. I wasted so much time and paper before I figured this out. It also goes without saying, (but I will) that there's no sense in using a full sheet of paper to print your digi on; I cut my A4 pencil paper in four 10cm x 15cm rectangles and print on those.
When I create a card with a digital stamp, after I've got the digi just like I want it in my image processing app (sizing, sentiment, etc.) I save my work in folders organized by season/holiday/occasion so that I can easily find and reuse a digi (or reprint it if I mess it up).
Case in point today's card. I knew I wanted it to fit in a rectangle die, so I looked at past cards that used a rectangle die on my blog and found a card I liked (this My Besties Happy Fall card). I then went to the digistamp file I had saved for that card's digi in my Fall/Halloween file. I opened the image and pasted over the old digi with the new (Di's DigiStamps Autumn Fox), adjusting it to be approximately the same size and while I was at it, reusing the sentiment. I deleted the old digi stamp on the bottom and did a 'save as' with the new name. I then printed it out, colored it up, and cut it with my die...voila!
The patterned paper is a mix from my scraps stash and in my favorite autumn colors – shades of orange, burgundy, and brown. The no-brand die leaves are dressed up with copper dots. The sentiment was created with Euphoria Script font.
Digital stamp – Di's DigiStamps Autumn Fox
