I'm taking a break from my Halloween/Fall cards to post this Holiday card featuring the Winter Cabin digi (retired) from Di's DigiStamps. I love this scene. It reminds me of a Swiss chalet somewhere in the Alps and so like any proper Swiss chalet, it had to have red shutters (red is a favorite shutter color in Switzerland). I plan on making it this year's holiday card for some Swiss friends. I was pleased with how it turned out; it's similar to this Country Cabin Thanksgiving card from a few years back.
Paper is Craft Sensations Christmas Design pad. The sentiment was created with one of my favorite fonts – Channel Slanted 2. I dressed it up with my trusty no-brand border strip and ric-rac dies and three wooden dots.
Just to show you what I mean about red shutters in Switzerland, here are some photos from our summer trip to beautiful Leukerbad, Switzerland, a Alpine spa resort known for its hot water springs. Oh, and the 1804 there on the chalet to the right isn't the street address, that's the year it was built, you see this often on Swiss chalets.
Digital stamp – Di's DigiStamps Background Winter Cabin
Dies – Artemio rounded squares, no-brand border, Gemini Fancy Borders Ric-Rac
Embellishments – wood dots
